As a mental health professional, I use my education and life experience to help you to navigate your thoughts and emotions and to obtain a sense of clarity and peace. I work primarily via Telehealth (also called E-health), and I focus on English speaking twice-exceptional adults in the Netherlands.
I am a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker and recognized as a psychologist by NIP (the Dutch Institute of Psychologists). I have been working in clinical mental health for about 10 years.
Prior to my career in clinical social work, I earned a masters degree in public health (specifically mental health) so I have been involved in a variety of projects related to mental health research, education and training, program development, and evaluation for the better part of 30 years.
I am serious about offering an affirming practice. That means I work to empower a client with respect to their gender identity, sexuality, relationship orientation, neurodiversity, body size / shape / ability, cultural, and any other differences, rather than trying to “repair” or minimize such differences. Clients describe me as insightful, empathetic, compassionate, genuine, funny, easy-going, and nonjudgmental.
I specialize in applying mindfulness to help move you to a place of acceptance and a life consistent with your values. In addition, I help people understand patterns that have gotten in the way of developing and maintaining healthy relationships, and take the necessary steps to turn their perfect vision of a relationship into reality.
I am an active therapist with a natural directive, coaching style – I will ask questions, challenge assumptions, offer different perspectives, and, when you're ready, help you to leave your comfort zone and make meaningful changes in your life.

Fees
I believe that everyone should have access to quality mental health care regardless of ability to pay. In cases where my standard fee is out of range, I am generally able to offer a sliding scale. Just ask if you think we are a great client-therapist fit but you need special accommodations.
